The New Hope-Solebury School District is seeking applicants for a part time Athletic Trainer to oversee all athletic training services as specified in essential Job Functions below.   The position is anticpated to being in August and work approximately 20 hours per week 10 months of the year.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Assistance in the coordination of the sports medicine program at the School.
  2. Advising the Athletic Director on supplies and training equipment needed for the sports medicine program.
  3. Assisting the Athletic Director and athletic coaching staff in the design and implementation of a continuing education program for the School’s athletic coaching staff.
  4. Providing condition and flexibility training suggestions to the School coaching staff under the direction of a licensed physician to be provided through the School.
  5. Assistance in monitoring athletic injuries and assistance in developing an injury prevention training program under the direction of a licensed physician to be provided through the School.
  6. Coordinating and providing injury follow-up and evaluation to assist the treating physicians of students.
  7. In the event of multiple athletic events the athletic director will designate priority of event coverage.
  8. Provide direct care of athletic injuries during practices, assigned games and scrimmages
  9. Refer needed treatments to appropriate facilities.
  10. Arrange and contact patients/Physicians for fitting of specialized protective athletic equipment as needed.
  11. Communicate with coaches, parents, Athletic Director, and other health care professionals regarding status of injured athletes and expected date of return to competition after completion of rehabilitation treatments.
  12. Document all reported injuries in appropriate records.
  13. Administer baseline concussion testing prior to sports seasons and follow-up testing as needed.
  14. Collection and verification of all necessary PIAA required physical examination paperwork in order for any student/athlete to participate in interscholastic activities. (In conjunction with AA)
  15. Coordinate the collection, recording, and storage of pre-participation physicals.
  16. Requisitions program supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree Required
  • Appropriate state licensure, current, and in good standing.
