The HS Spring Assistant Track and Field Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in the administration, organization, and development of the New Hope-Solebury High School Track and Field program. This position supports the District’s mission by promoting academic achievement, athletic excellence, sportsmanship, and the personal growth of student-athletes.

Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and supervising the overall Track and Field program in accordance with District policies and PIAA regulations.

Coach and supervise student-athletes in assigned track event areas (e.g., sprints, middle distance, distance, relays, hurdles, jumps, throws).

Conduct practices that emphasize event-specific technique, conditioning, speed development, and safe participation in an indoor environment.

Instruct student-athletes in winter track fundamentals, advanced techniques, and meet strategies appropriate for competition.

Evaluate athlete performance and provide feedback to support individual and team development throughout the season.

Promote and model appropriate conduct, sportsmanship, and respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and the school community.

Support the academic success and overall well-being of student-athletes in alignment with District expectations.

Collaborate with the Head Coach to ensure consistency and continuity across all indoor event groups and training plans.

Assist with meet preparation and management, including athlete entries, heat assignments, warm-ups, equipment setup, and athlete supervision during competitions.

Help ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of track equipment and training facilities.

Communicate effectively and professionally with student-athletes, parents/guardians, administrators, and athletic department staff.

Ensure compliance with District policies, PIAA regulations, and league rules, including eligibility, indoor facility safety protocols, and reporting requirements.

Uphold and enforce District codes of conduct, team rules, and expectations.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
